This week's call is for you to answer ONE QUESTION: What is the ONE LITTE CHANGE that you made that has given you the biggest result. Was it physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, educational, vocational or something else?
For me, I've held onto a number of dreams that won't go away and though I still cannot see the "big result" (such as a TV show), I have (for example) written an free blog Little Changes Big Results each week for 52 weeks with healthy tips (this week is about 3 Rez Busters) for the day when I will have to research and write material for my own show! I've also worked toward "trademarking" the LCBR brand, which has required working with a lawyer and submitting specimens to the USTPO over a 12 month period--and the result? I own the trademark to Little Changes Big Results for publishing, radio and tv--woo hoo! (Now they just need a home!)
By the way, I will be guest hosting on a SO CAL radio station--KBRT 740 am--so call in or go online and listen on Tuesday January 4th! I will be talking about Becoming a Healthy American Woman--guest hosting for 2 hours (by myself!) between 3 and 5 pm. Join me, won't you? (Move over DR. LAURA!)
I trust the LCBR Year One series has given you continued growth in your life! I look forward to the 2 new 2011 series and to staying in touch with you! Please visit CYL Daily regularly or call Reggie at the office at 800.444.6189 if you need coaching or resources!
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Twelve: MERRY Christmas!
THIS is such a special week! As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, my hope for each of you is to open your heart--in new ways--to God's presence and open your ears to His voice. He wants to meet you personally, to give you hope, to heal your hurts, to hold you close. Don't miss the powerful, life-changing presence of God in every Christmas hymn or Gospel reading this week! Soak it up. Take it in. Hold onto it.
Over and over, I am reminded--especially by my friends who are living through difficult situations (spouses with cancer, loss of loved ones, job loss, or children who are experiencing setback)--that those who maintain a disciplined rhythm of life also experience a great deal of God's peace and presence. Let me explain...
PRAY: Those who are suffering tell me that by holding onto to time alone with God, they find the courage and strength to get through the most difficult of times. Very often, I receive emails or calls from people telling me that the habit they previously built (of talking and listening to God daily) during easier days and more normal times became their foundation during the difficult times. We never what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds it, yes? Never let busyness steal away alone time with God.
PLAN: Believe it or not, I was a major procrastinator for the first half of my life! Only after I began to pray one hour a day, did I start to change my sanguine personality weaknesses (tardiness, procrastination, inability to finish a project, anxious over-eating, etc.). It's true! I had never written a book, finished my college degree, or kept weight off UNTIL I began to pray--but once I got alone with God, He began to harness my temperament, appetite, and turn my dreams into goals with deadlines. If God could do this for me, He can do this for anyone! One day at time, God's plan will come through your time alone with Him--and you will get your "marching orders!" Turn your marching orders into TO-DO's and you are on your way to a new life!
PLAY: Exercise releases endorphines. Exercise reduces stress. Exercise burns excess fat and calories. Exercise improves our cardiovascular system. Exercise is known to fight against disease!!!!!!! Exercise--even walking 10 minutes twice a day--is beneficial to your overall health: better sleep, healthy weight, lower cholesterol, and heart and bone health. It has been reported that most people gain 2-5 pounds between Christmas and the New Year and never lose it. Be intentional about regular exercise every week of the year, especially during the holidays!!!
You are loved!
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Eleven: OH HOW I WANT YOU TO FLY!
My personal commitment to Pray, Plan, Pray has lasted over 26 years (with a commitment to 60 minutes of Prayer each day, 20 minutes of Planning each day, and 140 minutes of play each week)--it is a lifestyle of balance, longevity, intention, and growth. I suggest this system because I know it works! Therefore, the 5 to 10 to 20 minutes of Pray, Plan, Play was intended to give you success as you developed the habit of (in essence) the 8 Daily To-Do's!
In the final two weeks of this year's Little Changes Big Results Coaching Series, I want to encourage you to fly!
Do not hold back.
Do not accept or give excuses.
Do not compare.
Do not take "no," for an answer (maybe "not now," but not "no").
Do not listen to the wrong voices or believe the lies.
Do not give up no matter how many times/tries it will take to reach your goals.
Do not underestimate your ability to influence the lives of everyone your life touches!
Please, have your own "come to Jesus" moment this week and determine to lead a life of balance, longevity (God willing), intention and growth! Yes and Amen?
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Ten: What do you need to do...
This week--near the end of the year and end of the quarter--it is time to ask yourself, "What do I need to do to follow through." A good reporter will ask and then answer, in order to provide his or her readers with the most succinct information, these questions:
"Who, what, when, where, why..."
This is your assignment this week, as you continue building a lifestyle of "Pray 20, Plan 20, and Play 20," to ask yourself these questions, like a good reporter.
1. Who can help me reach my goals...who can keep me accountable? THIS IS HUGE!
2. Get to the bottom of what you need to do to RIGHT NOW and in 2011 to become healthier, more focused, less stressed, become more content, etc.) WRITE a statement or make a bullet list and post them in your Bible or Prayer Notebook and make them prayer requests!
3. Determine exactly how long it is going to take to accomplish the desires of your heart. Then decide when you will take the first, second, third, fourth, and/or multiple steps it will take to accomplish your goal(s). (Time waits for you; it's not going anywhere!)
4. Where do I most often "fall off the wagon?" Is it with certain people, at certain times of the day, etc. Make every effort, whenever possible, to avoid those things, people, or places that keep you from being healthy and whole.
5 Why do you want to change? Write out a statement of conviction.
Let's ALL do this! As our year/quarter comes to a close, I look forward to hearing from each of you, at least ONE of the answers to the above questions! OKAY?
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Nine: Finish Strong, Be Strategic
Pray 20: The Word of God is your instructor, making you wise. It is your counselor, revealing the lies of Satan. Spend your time with God to get His marching orders, courage, insights, and counsel. Reread Psalm 119:97-98, 100-101, 111-112. Please add ONE CHAPTER OF LUKE to your time with God each day during December. It takes time to read, especially CH 1--Fabulous way to immerse yourself in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus!
Plan 20: Remember 2009? Saving money, calories and time is never out of fashion! Consider the holiday gifts that don't cost money. Consider ways to spend your time, not your money on/with those you love. Be generous with those you know need the most. Watch what you eat every day and enjoy a little extra two times this month--not 10 times!
Play 20: Get on the treadmill, walk outdoors, go to a mall or track and walk, put on an old VHS tape and laugh your way through a workout! 140 minutes a week--a must if you want to get and stay healthy. Remember, endorphines are released as much as calories are burned!
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Eight: Don't Slip Back
This week's call will focus on today's (11/23) CYL Daily Bible reading:
Ezekiel detailed the path the Israelites entered the Temple, compared to how they left it. If they came in the north entrance, they were to leave by the south entrance. Why? So they would leave DIFFERENT! The Word of God, our time alone with him is intended to CHANGE us--we are to leave that time different than when we came to it (and to God), yes?
I Peter 1:13 and 14 says, "So think clearly and exercise self-control...Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires."
When you think about this year, do you see progress and growth? Do you sense your quiet time with God changing you EVERY TIME?
Please post your answers!!
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Seven: 10, 10, 10 Timeless Tips
Pray 10: Please read (or re-read) Hebrews 12:1-12 to inspire you!
A chapter in the NT, a few verses in Proverbs and a Psalm each day takes about 5 minutes. Then 5 minutes spent praying through a prayer list then daily keeping the "cup clean" in confession of sin (Gal. 5:15-16 is a contemporary list that could refresh your memory on sins of the flesh and of the spirit) completes a daily "talk to God, listen to God" experience. (FYI: On December 1, we'll add one CH of LUKE each day to walk us through the life of Christ during the holiday season--this exercise takes a minimum of 5 minutes.)
Plan 10: Planning your life is, in essence, managing your time. So this week, whether you continue the 4,2,4 idea (of laying out your day each morning, makings mid-day course corrections, and ending the day with a look at tomorrow), keep in mind that MIN, DIA, WAG (Most Important Now, Day in Advance, and Week-At-A-Glance) are catchy phrases that keep you focused on the goal: managing your time, rather than letting it control you! (Ex: Plan your meals one day in advance, your work-outs one week in advance, leaving "margin" on your calendar for travel time each day, completing ONE more step toward a dream or goal.)
Play 10: Lift (2) Lean (2) Lunge (2) Lengthen (2) Laugh (2) -- more on the call!
Be encouraged to live above your circumstances, love the way you want to be loved, and look good!!!

Week Six: Ten, Ten, Ten AGAIN!
This is the secret to change--consistent, daily steps toward the goals you have set out for yourself!
The exercises and/or assignments that I give you each week are:
1) To build repetition
2) To inspire confidence
3) To engage your body, mind and soul -- not just one aspect of yourself
4) To bring breakthrough
5) To give you a track record
As you plan 10 minutes a day (whether you set aside 4/2/4 OR set aside 5 for Today, 5 for the future (a project or event), you are building success into your daily life. Planning NEVER hurts, it ONLY helps.
As you pray (at least) 10 minutes a day, you are acknowledging that you are not in control of your life, you are a visitor on this planet, you are in need of supernatural help/advice/direction/comfort. If you run out of prayers for yourself, pray for the sick.
As you play 10 minutes a day, you MUST realize that ACTIVITY is not an option for a healthy body. Making fitness fun is the best way to make yourself stay active--even when you don't feel like it. (More about "health" on the call.)
2011 Group Info:
For those who want to join me next year in BECOMING A HEALTHY AMERICAN WOMEN IN 2011, I am offering the same levels of online group (quarter or year) members (click here) or 3 levels of 1-to-1 coaching (month, bi-month, weekly) (click here) with a 10% discount for Early Birds. The Series will cover 3 Non-Negotiable Traits, 3 Daily Commitments, 3 Unwavering Convictions, 3 Compelling Roles of a "Healthy American Woman."
For those who are determined to read through the Bible in One Year--join me in 2011 for a weekly group (no coaching)--just click here for more information or to register (register with or without a bible). Early Bird saves $25.

Week Five: 10/10/10 = Now, not Then...
Later. Then. Tomorrow.
As you know, the format behind Pray, Plan, Play! is the Change Your Life Daily Journal. By taking the time to PLAN what you eat, when exercise, how you accomplish the non-negotiable tasks and handle the interruptions, PLUS covering your day and loved ones in prayer IS A LIFESTYLE.
Pray 10, Plan 10, Play 10 will change your life. You will build consistency which builds character. You will see your attitude change as you feel and look better. Yes, the way we dress and how we look impacts how we treat others and speaks loudly of how we think about ourselves.
Your registration in this group was a choice you made to make LITTLE CHANGES with the expectation that you will achieve BIG RESULTS. Are you seeing those BIG RESULTS? If so, hurrah! Post a few of them to encourage others. If you are not seeing BIG RESULTS, it's not too late to finish the year (and this quarter) STRONG.
Here are this week's suggestions!
10 minutes to Pray -- Talk to God for 5 minutes (keep a journal) and Listen to God by reading CYL DB New Testament and Psalm.
10 minutes to Plan -- So integral to success--listing your priorities, scheduling your tasks, planning your meals and workouts.
10 minutes to Play -- Walk 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening (best results occur after a meal).
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Four: 5, 5, and 5 in Focus!
This week I want you to concentrate on each "P" as a 5 minute activity SO THAT you will be more inclined to add 5 minutes to each "P" next week (and for the month of November).
PRAY -- Talk to God in writing about the ways He is working in your life. Tell Him what you appreciate about Him. Ask Him to forgive you for any way you consistently turn from Him. Pray specifically for each family member by name and wait silently to see if He brings a particular need or request to mind for them (not your usual words). Thank God for the simple things you have in life--if you have health or a home, a job or good friends. Set a time for 5 minutes so that you see if you paced yourself or didn't have enough time. (This will be good to note for the future.)
PLAN -- Take a look at the month of November--lay out a calendar for 30 minutes a day throughout the entire month (in 3 - 10 minute blocks or 6 - 5 minute blocks) and insert the 3 P's: Plan 10, Pray 10, Play 10. The only way to grow/go from 5 to 10 minutes in each area is to plan ahead -- remember, everyday is different...so consider trips, holidays, travel, visitors, days off, and outside commitments that will require you gather materials for prayer or play, set the alarm earlier than usual, or alert guests/family of your routine or food choices. (More on the call.)
PLAY -- Count your steps for 5 minutes -- how many did you get in during that allotted time? Post your results (yes, in a way this is a competition)! Did you know that 10,000 steps a day should be your goal if you are walking for exercise?
Be encouraged to DO IT!
Becky

Week Three: Later is NOT an Option!
The struggle I see with most of us is that we can't string 2 or more days together of consistency--whether it is eating or exercise or journaling or Bible reading. This week, I want to ask you to plan your entire schedule one day in advance AND assigning a time on your calendar to PRAY, PLAN, PLAY so that you must either do it NOW or do it WHEN? Later is not an option.
PRAY 5 one minute ideas:
1. Confession Session -- Write out Psalm 139:23-24 and respond with the first thoughts that come to your mind.
2. Thanks for your past -- What one past experience has given you a heart for others who are hurting? Post your answer.
3. Kneeling for healing -- Continue to pray for one specific person/family who need miraculous intervention.
4. Look up and lift -- Go outside and lift your hands to the heavens and talk to God about your most pressing concern.
5. Let go in writing -- Whatever it is that weighs heavy on your heart, describe it to God in writing. Ask Him to take it over.
PLAN 5 one minute ideas:
1. Mail control -- Even if/though your mail is a mess, start a mail center with any new incoming mail. Sort daily.
2. Kitchen control -- Keep the counter clean at every meal. Wipe, load, put back, bag, or clip each food item, each meal.
3. Garbage control -- Remove garbage from car and/or work space EACH TIME you get up from your seat.
4. Clothes control -- Fold sweaters and jeans or hang jackets the MINUTE you take them off.
5. Key control -- If you don't have a place for your keys when you walk in any door, decide on one: pocket in purse, hook on wall.
PLAY 5 one minute ideas:
Balance -- On left foot, on right foot -- in front, on side, in back.
Jacks -- Jump or Reach for 60 seconds -- up and down.
Lift -- While sitting, lift a 2-5 pound weight from lap to shoulder, elbows hinged at waist.
Stretch -- clasped hands in front of chest for 30 seconds, behind back for 30 seconds.
Squat -- holding onto a chair, take either a runner or a ballet position and squat down 5 counts, up 5 counts six times.
Be encouraged to DO IT NOW NOT LATER!

Week Two: Keep it UP -- 5/5/5
This week's assignments are designed to give you variety in your 5/5/5 -- unless, of course, you prefer no variety. Yes, you read that correctly. Based on your personality, you will either be bored with the same 'ole 5/5/5 or you will feel more comfortable not having to "change up" the pattern from last week.
Your goal this week is to KEEP IT UP. Strive for 7 days of praying for 5 minutes a day, planning 5 minutes a day, and playing 5 minutes a day. Developing a new habit takes at least 60 days, not 21, by the way! My goal this week is to give a few more "new" or "recycled" ideas (depending on how many and which groups you've joined of mine) that will inspire you to make a little change in the way you pray, plan, and play so that you will see big results.
PRAY 5 ONE MINUTE ideas:
1-Paraphrase one Psalm each day, making it your personal prayer.
2-Be grateful--make a "Thank You" list of those things that come immediately to your mind.
3-Pray on your knees for someone who is sick as if they were your own...
4-Find a scripture that you can pray for others and post it on your bathroom mirror (ex: Col 1:9-12)
5-Pray for a neighbor by name (and if you don't know any names of neighbors, find out this week!)
PLAN 5 ONE MINUTE ideas:
1-Sticky pad chores-- time your tasks and record (I'll explain on call).
2-No dishes in sink -- rinse and load or wash and dry.
3-Fold or hang clothes when you change each day.
4-Charge your phone or computer each night (take the time to do so).
5-Clean out car of any cups, wrappers, or receipts when you get to work or home.
PLAY 5 ONE MINUTE ideas:
1-Climb ANY steps today (at work or home or at the store).
2-With praying hands, press.
3-With clasped hands, pull.
4-Sit and Stand (I'll explain on the call).
5-Stretch to the sky, circle to the right with knees slightly bent, stop at floor and hold; reverse.
Okay everyone! Get busy.
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week One: Five Minutes a DAY to Pray, Plan and Play!
This week is the launch of Pray, Plan, Play in our first monthly challenge of spending 5 minutes a day in each area.
Pray: Talk to God and Listen to God
Plan: Laying out--one day in advance--your quiet time, workout, and calls/tasks/meetings for the next day.
Play: Working out--bands, weights, bar, balls, or pedometer counting...activity!
I will give you a variety ideas on the conference call this week, so be sure to bring paper and pencil to take notes, as well as determine what journal and calendar you will use this quarter (such at the CYL Daily Journal) in which you will implement and/or modify these ideas.
To be most successful in this group, you should post a response each week (probably at the same time, to build some consistency), and review other posts to observe similarities or successes that can keep you on track.
Additionally, the goal of each group that I lead is to always start strong and absolutely finish strong. (Only about 20% of the group tends to run the full race.) I consider this is a great trait to develop in every area of your life! (For those who want extra credit, please define "this" for me!)
Be encouraged,
Becky

Welcome newbies! Please introduce yourself by sharing one unique fact about yourself and why you joined this group for this quarter.

We will immediately be challenged to incorporate a 5/5/5 routine (15 minutes for the month of October) into our lives. so start looking now for ways to do this (get up earlier, slip out of your normal lunch hour for 15 minutes alone, etc.)

Because this series will follow the 8 Daily To-Do's, you might want at least 90 days of journal entries! If you want to use the Change Your Life Daily Journal, we are offering a special to LCBR Group members only of $10 each for 2 CYL DJ, plus shipping $7.50. Call Reggie at 800.444.6189.
